Organized between September 23th and October the 7th, the 12th edition of the Rio de Janeiro Film Festival is considered to be the largest and most important event in the movie industry in all Latin America. The show will include short and regular Brazilian films, documentary and fictional films as well as foreign films. It will be held at Cima Centro de Cultura e Informação e Meio Ambiente.

Orchids in the Springtime 2010

Between September 24th and 29th, Rio de Janeiro will be the proud host of the Orchids in the Springtime 2010 event which will exhibit different species to the delight of the audience. Here, hundreds of flowers will be exhibited from permanent collections and from many Brazilian producers, and here we include the famous OrquidaRio. The event will be held at Rua Jardim Botânico, 1008 – Jardim Botânico.

5th World Cultures Carnaval

The event will be held between the 20th and 29th of August 2010 and will focus upon the multi-cultural aspects, differences as well as similarities between cultures and will celebrate diversity. There will be dancing, singing, music, poetry and theatre performances for all participants. Workshops will be organized as well as numerous activities for youngsters, children, grown-ups as well as senior residents and tourists.

5th Walking Rio

Organized on the 22th of August, this fifth edition of the Walking Rio event will allow its participants to take a long walk along the breathtaking beaches of Leme, Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon, all offering a total of 10 km of natural beauties. There is no age or sex restrictions, which means that everybody is allowed to participate, including handicapped persons. Each will be following their own pace as there won’t be any qualifying stages.
