During Rio’s Panorama Festival (4-20th November 2011), you’re likely to see dance performances at unusual places around the city such as metro stations. A celebration of contemporary dance, this is a not-for-profit but high-profile event that attracts performers from around the world.
During “Degusta Rio” or “Taste Rio”, people descend on the city for a range of tastings, demonstrations, workshops and other gastronomic events. Various restaurants, carioca (local) bars, cachaça cane liquor producers and wine distributors take part.
Rio de Janeiro Pride might not be as big as the Sao Paulo event, but it’s no less of a party. A month of LGBT parties, exhibitions and talks culminates in the Pride Parade from Copacabana on the final day.
