Rio de Janeiro City Marathon

On the 18th of July, the city will be the competition course of the Rio de Janeiro City Marathon which has been chosen as the most admired marathon in Brazil in 2009 by the readers of Revista O2 magazine – specialized in running. The competition, with 42km, shall start at 7:30am at Recreio dos Bandeirantes and shall go through the city’s paradisiacal scenery of mountains and sea. Here is the full schedule of the event:
8 a.m. – Start: Aterro do Flamengo
11 a.m. – Awarding
Meia-Maratona – 21km
7 a.m. – Start: Praia do Pepe/Barra
11 a.m. – Awarding (na chegada no Aterro do Flamengo)
Maratona – 42km
7:30 a.m. – Start: (Praça Tim Maia, Recreio)
11 a.m. – Awarding (na chegada no Aterro do Flamengo)
