The Star Class World Championship will reach the 4th edition this year in Brazil and will gather a significant number of well-known yachtsmen like Iselin, Knapp, Petterson, Conner, Blackaller, Torben Grael, Marcelo Ferreira, Reynolds, Bruno Prada and Robert Scheid.
The event is very old, dating back from 1923 Olympics and is considered to be the most prestigious yachting event in the entire world. The quality of Brazilian yachting competitors gives Brazil ample credentials to host the competition. The event classifies for the Olympics, in its record medals modality for Brazil. The Star Class yacht first participated in the 1932 Olympics.
