The flag is a symbol of national unity and symbolizes respect for the generations that have passed as well as the patriotism and traditions of the national heroes that did everything in their power to maintain Brazil’s sovereignty and integrity as a nation.

Civic and military ceremonies are scheduled at the Copacabana Fort, in the Brigadeiro Eduardo Gomes Park and at the monument to the Dead of World War II.

The song was presented for the very first time at the Benjamim Constant School back in 1902 and in that same year Flag Day was established, in promotion of deputy Thomaz Cavalcanti.

It is the symbol of national unity and symbolizes the respect for the Brazilian history as well as the traditions and patriotism of the national heroes that did their best in order to maintain the nation’s integrity and sovereignty.

The venues where Flag Day will be celebrated are Copacabana Fort, the Monument to the Dead of World War 2 and in Brigadeiro Eduardo Gomes Park. Both civil and military ceremonies will be held on all these venues.
