During “Degusta Rio” or “Taste Rio”, people descend on the city for a range of tastings, demonstrations, workshops and other gastronomic events. Various restaurants, carioca (local) bars, cachaça cane liquor producers and wine distributors take part.

Venues in Rio de Janeiro’s Copacabana host music, dance, theatre and poetry for the Carnival of Cultures (Carnaval das Culturas). The event takes in art, gastronomy, environment and literary exhibitions before rounding off with a parade along Avenida Atlântica.

The Rio Bom de Mesa (Good Food Festival) will give you the chance to enjoy Brazil’s varied regional cuisine. The restaurants that will participate will open up their kitchens to chefs coming from all over the globe. In addition, all over the town there are going to be lip-smacking events.
